There is a Champagne mood at Perth Racecourse with the start of the new season next week. Thanks to a new sponsorship deal with Laurent-Perrier, racegoers will enjoy a new Champagne Bar at Perth this season by the Parade Ring.
Perth Racecourse prepares to open for their centenary season full of optimism. The three day Stan James Perth Festival starts the season off on Wednesday April 23rd , 24th and 25th. It has been a busy winter at the Tayside venue with improvements now completed for both racegoers and horses. The course has been widened at the stands bend and the new Champagne and Wine Bar will be in use for the first time over looking the Parade Ring. Increased support from Wantage based Bookmakers, Stan James have ensured that the prize money on offer at this popular three day meeting will now reach a record high and three days of very competitive racing are forecast.
Sam Morshead, the General Manager said “We are all set for three memorable days which I am confident will get our Centenary year off to a flyer. Thanks to Stan James, The Press & Journal and the Allied Irish Bank (GB) and our other sponsors, we have terrific prize money on offer and as a result there will be a big invasion from the south of England. Champion trainer Paul Nichols and his main adversary David Pipe are sending runners along with our usual supporters of Nigel Twiston Davies, Philip Hobbs, Oliver Sherwood, northern trainers will be fighting hard to keep them at bay. As long as we have some Scottish winners as well, I will be happy. Bookings are coming in all the time and our corporate sector is again very busy so the excitement is rising by the hour and we are looking forward to another good year”.
