Perth
Racecourse is looking forward to an additional evening
meeting this Friday 23rd May.
Gates open for the evening meeting at 4.30pm and everyone
is welcome to come an unwind at the races after a day's
work. Tickets can be purchased on the gate for all enclosures
from £10 to £15.
Horseracing
is the fastest growing spectator sport in Scotland and
many first time racegoers have already discovered the
atmosphere and excitement of Perth this season. At the
last evening meeting on the 14th May 2003, H.M The Queen
had her first National Hunt Winner in Scotland when First
Love, previously owned by H.M The Queen Mother, won the
Carlsberg Intermediate Steeple Chase, partnered by Mick
Fitzgerald (see photo above). It was a popular winner
with the crowd who had come to enjoy an evening's entertainment
at The Famous Grouse Race Evening.
The
racecourse has additional information for first time racegoers
available free from a wall mounted holder opposite the
weighing room. This aims to explain the various enclosures
and how to make the most of your visit to the races including
a map of the racecourse buildings and directions to all
the various bars and restaurants. Sam Morshead General
Manager said "Going at the moment is good to soft
and we are looking forward to another great evening's
entertainment where everyone can enjoy the special Perth
atmosphere."
