RECORD ATTENDANCE AT FAMILY FUN RACE MEETING

Over
8,600 people came to the racecourse in Scone Palace Park
on Saturday 16th August in the glorious hot sunshine to
enjoy a full day of racing and family entertainment. The
gate attendances were up by 37% on the same date in 2002.
The gates opened at 11.00am with Falconry displays, Horse
Vaulting, Ferret Racing and numerous children's attractions.
500 guests enjoyed Corporate Hospitality at the course,
including a number of Stag and Hen parties, who travelled
from the length and breadth of the U.K to start their
celebrations at Perth.

One
of the Stag parties wrote to the racecourse office to say
"I am so glad that we chose the race day for our stag
event. We all enjoyed the perfect day to help celebrate
the future wedding of our friend. It was a wonderful day
out in a beautiful setting and one that we will all have
fond memories of. I look forward to attending the races
again in the future, hopefully next year".
Perth Racecourse Marketing Manager Julie Manners said "we
are delighted that so many new people are discovering what
a fantastic time they can have at the races, many of them
have come on the recommendation of friends, and some from
a significant distance. We are continually striving to improve
the quality of the experience for everyone who comes racing
at Perth from toddlers to the more senior racegoers.

The
Racecourse is now looking forward to it's Glorious Finale
Meeting on the 24th and 25th September, the last meeting
of the 2003 season.
