BHB 'thrill of ownership' Stand at Perth Festival 2004

Perth Racecourse is pleased to welcome the British Horseracing Board's 'Thrill of Ownership Stand to the Racecourse for the first two days of the Festival on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd April 2004.

The BHB Ownership Marketing Group has financed this initiative since 2001. The aim is to increase awareness and understanding of racehorse ownership in Britain.

In 2003 the stand visited 26 racecourses covering a total of 50 days' racing. Due to the success of this initiative 2004 will see a considerable increase in backing for the stand with a schedule that will reach over three quarters of a million race goers. The stand will be out 56 days in 2004, visiting 36 racecourses, many of which it has not visited before.

Marketing Manager Julie Manners said "we are delighted to be able to welcome the BHB Ownership Stand to the races for our first meeting of the season. We hope that it will provide a useful insight for all racegoers into everything they ever wanted to know about owning their own racehorse or becoming part of a syndicate".

The stand bases itself around a free to enter competition, offering racegoers the chance to 'Win a Racehorse for a Year'. Stand representatives will be on hand to help answer any ownership queries. The stand also offers literature and advice on racehorse ownership.

The stand also offers the chance to book your place on one of the six BHB Ownership Open Days of 2004, to be held at the following racecourses: Ayr, Thirsk, Newmarket, Goodwood, Wincanton and Newbury. These days cost just £99 per person and are designed to provide professional advice and a real insight into the thrill of racehorse ownership.

A promotional video of the 'Thrill of Ownership' will also be shown on the stand, as well as log-on facilities linked to the Ownership pages of the BHB website, www.bhb.co.uk, with details by geographical region in the Trainers and Partnership & Racing Club Directories.

Each day an industry professional will be invited onto the stand for a question and answer session. Partnership organisers, and trainers will be in attendance to give their first hand experiences of racehorse ownership.
