ANDREW PARKER saddled three winners, Forever Eyesofblue (10-1), Behavingbadly (25-1), and Jacksonville (10-1), to secure the top trainer award at the 2004 Per th Festival.

Behavingbadly lifted the Betdaq Highland National over 3m 7f for Carlisle owner Harold Henderson, leading at the second-last fence and staying on strongly to beat Red Rampage by eight-lengths.

“It was a great Per th Festival for me. I didn’t expect three winners. I thought Behavingbadly was an each-way shot and Alan Dempsey gave him a terrific ride and I was very pleased to give Ray and Anita Green a first Festival success with Jacksonville,” said the Lockerbie trainer.

Nigel Twiston-Davies (Bobby Dazzler and Petite Margot), Nicky Richards (Monet’s Garden and Cordilla) and Tom George (Polish Cloud and Eggmount) each saddled two winners at the three-day meeting.

Tony Dobbin (three winners Monet’s Garden, Full Irish and Cordilla) lifted the top jockey award for the second successive year.

Nicky Richards said of Monets Garden: “I have always rated him very highly and he is a very exciting prospect for the future.”

Grand National and Scottish Grand National-winning jockey Graham Lee won the Ladbrokes.com Handicap Chase for Malcom Jefferson on Moss Harvey (7-1). “I was in front when three horses fell at the fourth-last fence. He kept on bravely for me,” said Lee. Philip Hobbs - trained Double Honour (13-8 favourite) and Richard Johnson won the S.B.J. Nelson Steavenson Novices’ Chase for Scots owner Ron Huggins. “I have always wanted to have a winner at Per th and he really loved the soft going” said a delighted Mr Huggins.

Sam Thomas-ridden Kock de la Vesvre (16-1) lifted the £30,000 Press & Journal Handicap Chase - the top prize at the Per th Festival - for Venetia Williams. “We’ve enjoyed a great season with a personal-best 88 winners and I am really delighted,” said the Herefordshire trainer.
