After another fantastic racing season, Perth Racecourse has once again been voted "The Best Small Racecourse in Scotland and the North East 2004" by the Racegoers Club. This is a great achievement and follows on from the new Tourist Board accreditation of Four Star Activity Centre that was awarded to Perth Racecourse in November.
Julie Manners Marketing Manager commented today "It is very rewarding to receive this honour from the Racegoers Club for 2004. We are pleased that racing at Perth is continually perceived as a great day out and it is a testament to all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to make the racecourse such a success. We are continually improving and investing in even more facilities for the 2005 season and beyond to provide a top quality racing experience for all our racegoers of all ages".
Not resting on it's laurels Perth Racecourse is currently undergoing a major construction project to erect a £2m new Grandstand, due to open in time for the start of the 2005 season on the 20th April. This smart new facility will have a glass fronted dining facility with panoramic views overlooking the course on racedays with the ability to hire for private non raceday events.
After another record breaking season in 2004, the Management team are looking forward to an even more exciting and action packed season in 2005. New attractions include the Devil's Horsemen who are displaying their Medieval Jousting skills and Cossack Trick Riding on the additional Sunday 10th July 2005, the racecourse will also be welcoming Pony Racing to Perth for 10 - 13 year olds for the first time and a great atmosphere is guaranteed for another day of family entertainment.
