Jim Goldie's Kid'z'play, winning at Scone for the fifth time, starred on an afternoon of thrilling finishes in front of an 8000 crowd at Perth's Summer Holiday Family Meeting on Sunday 10 July.
Kid'z'play (2/1), ridden by Richard McGrath, rallied bravely to beat Native Coral by three lengths to lift the Sunday Mail Novices' Chase for Glasgow owner Liam McGuigan. Kid'z'play was gaining his 15th career victory, flat and jumping.
"He's been a marvellous horse for the stable and he loves Perth-he's unbeaten in five starts and loves jumping fences," said the elated Renfrewshire trainer at a sun-drenched Scone Palace Park.
Ulster trainer Jimmy Lambe is a great supporter of Perth and Jamica Plane (9/1) was a gallant one-length winner of the £12,000 Langvale Homes Handicap Chase for the Armagh stable under 5lb claimer Paul O'Neill.
"Sam (Morshead) always looks after us so well and the owners love coming to Scotland as they are always so well received and the prize money is great for summer jumping," said Lambe.
Lahib The Fifth (4/6 fav) and Ben Britten (4/1 fav) sealed doubles for Nicky Richards and Tony Dobbin and 2/1 fav Constable Burton secured North Yorkshire trainer Ann Duffield's first Scone winner under Keith Mercer.
Selkirk trainer Stuart Coltherd is enjoying a memorable summer jumping season and Royal Glen (8/1) landed the Contract Scotland Handicap Hurdle, romping to a seven-length victory to seal a 26/1 brace for Richard McGrath.
Malcolm Jefferson's Brooklyn Brownie (4/7 fav), ridden by Graham Lee, won the Famous Grouse Novices' Hurdle in the colours of Edinburgh owner Paul Gaffney and Langholm's Neil Stevenson.
