Family Day Review
Gordon Elliott and Richard Johnson landed the £18,000 Mackie's Family Fun Day Sundae Handicap Chase (for the Perth Silver Cup) with Le Grand Chene.
The bottom-weight followed up a recent course and distance success when slamming old rival Royal Macnab by six lengths.
Johnson said: "Hopefully the handicapper won't be too severe as he's handled the ground better than some. He's holding his form well for a ten-year-old and he stays well."
Elliott and Johnson earlier initiated a double when John Monash sauntered to victory in the Totepool Chip & Pin Betting Novices' Hurdle.
Elliott said: "He's in the sales next week so we'll see what happens next as the owner is away at the moment."
Elliott and Johnson had a rare reverse of luck as Western Home was clear when falling at the last in the totequadpot Races 3, 4 5 an 6 Novices' Handicap Chase.
The exit of the Irish raider left Wicked Spice clear with Craig Nichol riding minus both irons after his saddle slipped at the second last.
Winning trainer Nicky Richards said: "We would have been second but these things happen in the jumping game. He's been disappointing over fences but we'll take this slice of luck."
Lucinda Russell completed a 47/1 double with Tantamount and Marcus Antonious who landed a gamble (from 8/1) under conditional rider Blair Campbell.
