The team at Perth Racecourse is proud to announce Edinburgh Gin as title sponsors of the summer raceday on Saturday week (August 14), which will see the Scone venue’s biggest crowd since 2019.

In a week of good news for all at Perth, following hot on the heels of the confirmation of Edinburgh Gin’s greatly valued sponsorship came the Scottish Government announcement that Covid restrictions will ease further this coming Monday, five days ahead of the flagship fixture.

That paves the way for Perth – with the approval of local Safety Advisory Group – to welcome increased numbers across all areas of the racecourse, taking advantage of the venue’s vast outdoor spaces, food and drink facilities and live racing vantage points for the high quality seven-race card.

The latest batch of Grandstand and Picnic Enclosure tickets have now been released for The Edinburgh Gin Raceday, a Saturday afternoon meeting which will also see the return of shuttle buses from and to the city centre. Tickets for Perth’s four September fixtures, which will also see increased capacities enjoying high quality racing, are on sale now.

Hazel Peplinski, Perth Racecourse CEO, said: “We are extremely grateful to our longstanding partners Edinburgh Gin for their valued support of this high-profile Saturday afternoon fixture, which we are equally delighted will now feature significant crowd numbers. We have tip-toed so carefully this year to make sure we could welcome racegoers back in safe phases and now is the right time to accelerate our plans and increase our capacities within reason. People have been waiting patiently for clarity on our ticket offering and we can now offer that in both Grandstand and Picnic Enclosure, with all information available on our website or by contacting the racecourse team by phone.

“All racegoers attending The Edinburgh Gin Raceday shall be sharing a day of celebration as we return to something akin to standard protocols at the racecourse. As a team we are excited to be putting the final touches to the venue which is being set up in a more familiar fashion - it’s pretty much goodbye to the barriers, one-way systems and physical distancing at last.

“Perth only has the one Saturday fixture so it is brilliant to have these restrictions lifted in time for this thrilling £60,000 seven-race card that features The £20,000 Stone of Destiny Handicap Hurdle over 2 Miles. This shall be the first profitable crowd of the year and, more than the much-needed revenue opportunity, I cannot wait to hear the grandstands buzzing with the unique Perthshire cheer and chatter – we have sorely missed the conviviality of our social gatherings sharing a mutual passion.  I am excited for the first time in a long time.”
