The UK’s northernmost racecourse is now on the home straight of its 2019 racing calendar with planning and preparation gathering pace for Autumn Raceday (Monday 9 September) and the popular two-day Glorious Finale (September 25 & 26).

The Autumn Raceday will provide the setting for the Racehorse Owners Association (ROA) annual industry ownership day on Monday, bringing the racing industry together to celebrate racehorse ownership. The ROA will also sponsor five races on the day, including a jackpot for ROA members.

The ROA protects the interests of racehorse owners in the UK and the ROA Industry Day on Monday at Perth is part of an industry-wide series of events focussed on ownership strategy, which is funded by the Horserace Betting Levy Board (HBLB).

Hazel Peplinksi, chief executive at Perth Racecourse, said: “Horse ownership is big on the agenda at Perth Racecousre and we have made significant investments in our facilities for owners and trainers.  We’re therefore thrilled to host the ROA Industry Day on Monday - it’s great to have such a renowned industry body support and sponsor five races at our Autumn Raceday. The valuable seven-race card has attracted some intriguing entries and promises a superb afternoon of sport.”

Charlie Liverton, ROA Chief Executive, added: “We’re delighted to be working together with Perth Racecourse to celebrate and promote the thrill of racehorse ownership through our support and sponsorship of the ROA Industry Ownership Raceday on Monday 9 September. We would encourage existing and potential owners to come and meet the ROA team, and together we are focusing on the enjoyment of being a racehorse owner and the role of the owner being central to the raceday."

George Godsman, Syndicate Manager of County Set, said: “Our syndicate The County Set is having so much fun with our flagship horse Amalfi Doug who has improved 35 lbs since mid-June, has not been out of the frame at the last 5 fixtures at Perth and is returning to compete in the £25,000 feature Chase generously sponsored by the ROA.

“We’re all looking forward to welcoming the membership of the ROA to our local track for their regional industry day promoting the thrill of racehorse ownership. The ownership experience is substantially enhanced by the executive team at Perth and Monday’s race can’t come soon enough!”
