FEATURED RACING HIGHLIGHTS

The most valuable race on our first evening card of the year is the three-mile handicap hurdle - won last year by a 33/1 outsider (45/1 on the Tote!) - but a lot of local interest is created by the Hunters' Chase and plenty of fun is enjoyed by the competing amateurs and their supporters.

It can be quite sociable down in town afterwards too as the racing fraternity gather together to discuss the next day's runners and riders.

The antepost favourite for The Ballymore Novice Hurdle at the 2019 Cheltenham Festival, Champ owned by JP McManus and trained by Nicky Henderson, made a very strong impression with a facile victory in the 2-mile four-furlong maiden hurdle on this card last year.

Why not join us over two days; enjoy the fantastic May Evening and come back tomorrow for for Ladies Day!
