May Meetings Round-Up
After a great night's racing at Party in the Paddock, our first evening fixture of the season, a crowd of nearly 6,000 turned out for Ladies Day in aid of Breast Cancer Now.
The style stakes high off the track due to the £2,000 best dressed lady prize, there was also some stylish performances on the track, notably with Sam Twiston-Davies in great form riding a double on Warriors Tale and Vosne Romanee.
Twiston-Davies was the latest in a line of big name jockeys to heap praise on the Fair City track saying: "I love coming up here and the weather is fantastic as it's been very wet at home. Warriors Tale did the job nicely and will be a decent horse for later on. I thought Vosne Romanee would nearly win again as the form of his Chepstow win is looking quite hot.”
Alexander Thorne had his first winner aboard Urban Kode for his boss Lucinda Russell in the Fonab Castle Spa Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle. The 20-year-old is from Inverness and has had three rides over jumps for Miss Russell and three on the Flat when based with Malcolm Jefferson.
Perth’s next fixture is the popular Gold Cup Day on Sunday 5th June - Gold Cup Day Tickets.
