Groundsman
A Groundsman will be required to work with our existing Estates team who strive to achieve the consistently high standard of presentation of Perth Racecourse. The interested candidate should have an enthusiastic and flexible approach to all duties undertaken and can work on their own initiative, as well as being part of a team.

Hours:
40 hours per week. Core hours will be 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday. Shall be expected to work weekends as necessary during the racing season for which overtime is payable

Responsible, safe, and competent use of machinery & equipment (strimmer’s, ride on mowers etc)
Full driving licence
Tractor driving experience.
Willing to attend industry training courses Racecourse Groundsmanship as appropriate.
Duties & Responsibilities:
To support the Head Groundsman in developing the racecourse.
To maintain the racecourse to a high standard of presentation.
To help maintain the highest standards of professionalism, appearance and customer care at Perth Racecourse.
To be fully conversant with and implement the relevant Health & Safety standards.
To assist in the preparation of all racing surfaces and course maintenance.
To build, repair and maintain hurdles and fences.
To assist with the mowing of all grass areas.
To assist with the movement of and use of irrigation equipment.
To assist with the planning and setting up of the temporary facilities for racing and external events
To clean and care for all machinery used at the Racecourse and ensure that they properly maintained
To report all maintenance defects and ensure remedial works are completed promptly.
To ensure that all work areas are always clean and tidy
To assist with non-race day activities as required.
To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be determined by the Head Groundsman, Clerk of the Course or the Chief Executive.
