Perth Racecourse will welcome crowds to Ladies Day – sponsored by Edinburgh Gin – for the first time since 2019 and expect to break £100,000 in funds raised for partner charity Breast Cancer Now.
Edinburgh Gin Ladies Day, taking place on the afternoon of Thursday 12 May, was completely sold out more than one month in advance, with no tickets now remaining nor available to buy on the day.
The one-day festival of fashion will deliver a host of best dressed competitions and big prizes, supported by luxury clothing brand OLIAMI, while racegoers will be entertained by a live set from DJ and saxophonist duo Lovely Laura and Ben Santiago after racing. Stuart Webster, radio presenter on the Greatest Hits Network across Scotland, will host proceedings on the main stage while Edward Reid of Britain’s Got Talent fame will entertain VIP guests throughout the afternoon.
While there are no certainties in racing, one guaranteed winner at Edinburgh Gin Ladies Day will be charity Breast Cancer Now. This will be the tenth year of Perth Racecourse’s Ladies Day supporting Breast Cancer Now and it is expected that the total raised across all those years will pass the £100,000-mark next Thursday afternoon, the current total just £6,500 short of that landmark.
Edinburgh Gin Ladies Day is the second part of a two-day meeting, following Wednesday evening racing the day before, both fixtures boasting seven-race cards to deliver 14 races inside 24 hours.
Hazel Peplinski, Perth Racecourse CEO, said: “Excitement levels are ramping up here as we complete preparations before welcoming our largest crowd since 2019, and our first Ladies Day in three years.
“Many of our racegoers next week have held credit with us since 2020 and it will be extra special to welcome them back on Thursday for our annual Ladies Day which is a uniquely social event like none other on our fixture list. There shall of course be seven action packed races on the track but regulars know this is an occasion when the enclosures themselves are full of colour, glamour, laughter and excitement which makes the whole racecourse buzz from start to finish.”
Tickets are available for Wednesday evening racing at Perth, on May 11,
