Chasing Fire, ridden by Sean Bowen and trained by Olly Murphy, fairly stormed to victory in the feature race at Perth. Jumping ahead from front-running The Real Whacker at the last he won going away by three and a half lengths in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap Hurdle.
“He can be a little fresh but I always felt he was travelling well enough,” Bowen said. “It’s his first run since April so hopefully he’ll have another good season.”
King Roly recorded his third course win with a fluent success in the Centenary Silver Plate Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.
Trained by Mickey Bowen, he was driven home under brother James to beat Frisby by seven-lengths.
“He loves it here and has enjoyed a good summer,” the winning jockey said. “He stays further than 2m 4f as he has won over hurdles at nearly three miles.”
Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore struck with Mountain Molly in the Elston Supports UK Financial Advisors EBF Mares’ “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle.
“Both Mountain Molly and Biglesisback are horses we rate highly and hopefully they will have bright futures,” Russell said.
